Thousands of mourners marched with the body of assassinated anti-Syrian MP Walid Eido and his son Thursday after the two were killed Wednesday in a car bomb in Ras Beirut, along with two bodyguards and two civilians. The bodies of Eido and his son were taken from his home in Verdun to a Mosque on the outskirts of Tariq Jadida, where a service and prayer were held before being buried in the Martyrs Cemetary.

Soldiers of the Lebanese army mourn their colleague, Captain Khalid Merchad, in his hometown, Niha Village, Chouf Mountains, Lebanon, on Friday, June 15, 2007.  Merchad is the highest ranking officer to have died in battle with Fatah Al Islam at the Nahr Al Bared Palestinian refugee camp, near Tripoli in Northern Lebanon. To date 60 soldiers have been killed, including six on June 15 by a booby trap bomb left in an abandoned building inside the camp.
