Profile Intermedia' is the title of europe's most unusual media and design
festival. It is
unconventional, diverse, inspiring. This international media conference and
workshops sits at the
intersection and crossover of design, art, architecture, film, video,
photography, digital media,
visual effects, fashion, music, performance and culture; with an audience of
ca 1000 from more
than 12 countries for 3 days, 2 evenings + a bonus 4th pre-conference day

Profile Intermedia is produced at the HfK University of the Arts Bremen as a
'learning by doing'
project with students and guest professionals under the direction of Peter

Profile Intermedia 9: Languages and the Tower of Babel

The simile of The Tower of Babel with the world today and with the
'interpacting' of many
languages of art, design, technology and cultures is the main theme of
profile intermedia 9.

The Conference, Workshops and Events will concentrate on exploring and
experimenting with:
the expression, profusion and confusion of audio visual and constructed
languages: spoken,
drawn, designed, painted, photographed, and constructed languages; the
languages of schools
of thought and periods of arts and design; the influence of cultures and
countries upon their
audio, visual and built languages; and, the archaelogy of certain forms of
expression.
