University of California at Berkeley also presents a work by Gregory Niemeyer titled “Organum”, a long-term collaborative project centered around a visual and acoustical simulation of the human voice box. “Referencing a medieval polyphonic composition method, as well as Bacon’s famed treatise about our mis-readings of nature, this CGI (Computer Graphics Imaging) short feature orchestrates an allegory about mutation and possibility. Yearning for love, fanciful creatures spun from human voice boxes scamper about a cavernous world. It’s as if humanity’s aspirations remain long after any resemblance has disappeared.”
